Red Rock Farm - Ready for your Events
When visitors step onto Red Rock Farm, “wow” is often their first word. We have taken that response to heart and offer a beautiful venue located in tandem with an active equestrian facility. Located on a scenic country road and surrounded by 40 acres of pastures and wooded forests, the feel of the farm is serene and peaceful. “Wow” is the start to appreciating the open space, picturesque views, and soothing feel of nature.
It has been quite a process to open our nature-rich property to host events. Maintaining our farm as a farm remains one of the first priorities. Decisions about what we want to change and what must remain have been grounded in our personal and business values of legacy and preservation. The Farm was originally built in 1770 and we see ourselves as stewards of the land keeping its agricultural heritage at the core. So what have we done to be ready for your event?
Here are four things we have focused on in our updates, improvements, and renovations:
Make the location shine
Red Rock Farm was established as an equine facility in the early 1980’s. Years of use had worn down the sparkle of the setting. Now after over 40 gallons of paint on buildings and fence boards, we can see the bright and impressive setting again. We have cleaned out gardens and refreshed the grounds to bring back the charm of our location. We have made the space feel more open with clean lines and pleasing views while preserving shady areas for spots of reprieve on hot days.
Collocate horse farm with event space
All along our intent has been to enhance the property and with that improve the setting for the 25 + horses, their owners, and boarding business at the Farm. We are still a farm. We have not gutted the barn to make a dance floor. We have kept all the stalls so there is no tremendous dining hall. What we have are open welcoming spaces to envision open air dancing, areas for tents surrounded by trees and historic stone walls, and peaceful sounds of nature as your backdrop.
Learning a new language
Creating a location where guests can feel at peace with their surroundings has been part of our goal. Another task has been to find ways to get the word out to an audience that is looking for a unique farm setting. We know we have the right place for some but not for all. With our backgrounds in academia and the military, the shift has been real. We are fortunate to have support and knowledge resources around us to build this new vocabulary.
